What’s Brewing May 5th to May 11th
Magical Beings,
This week starts off with the 5/5 portal bringing harmony and balance into our lives. Now normally I would say 5’s mark a challenge, and in all honesty I guess this week hold no exceptions however I want you to think of this portal opener as a way to see that you have moved past the challenge and into the master of the skill.
Which brings me to our next big event, Mothers day is this Sunday here on Turtle Island and or North America. Think about all the times your mother may have or may continue to challenge you. Regardless of your relationship with her, take a moment to see how this repetition of challenge, may have actually been skill building… dare I say character building. Take some time this week to really think of the hardships this woman who birthed may have gone through. This is not to say you need to cross any boundaries that you have placed between you, but it is to allow a greater understanding of the path that rose to meet her. From this place you can choose to do differently.
And in saying that, May 5th is also the national day of remembrance and activism, honouring the lives for Missing and Murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirited people. If you feel called, hang a red dress, light a red candle, and say a silent prayer for the safe return of these folks, that their families may find peace and that those who created this injustice are brought to trial and found guilty of their crimes. May we together raise a collective consciousness that the systematic injustice and systems that keep Indigenous people under the thumb of patriarchy be lifted, and that the government begins to see all peoples as sovereign.
Affirmation:
"I allow myself to grieve what could have been, without abandoning what still can be. I trust in the alchemy of my shadows."
Tarot Card of the Week: 5 of Cups
The 5 of Cups arrives as a sacred mirror this week, asking: Where am I still mourning something that never had a chance to become what I hoped it would be? This card isn’t just about grief — it’s about what we do with it. Will you let the spilled cups define your story, or will you finally turn around and see what still stands behind you? You are not broken. You are being invited into a deeper truth — one that can only be accessed by walking through, not around, your pain.
Moon Energy:
First Quarter Moon in Leo (May 4th): This fiery moon energy invites bold movement, but not recklessness. It’s a time to trust your inner fire — your joy, your passion — and take a courageous step toward your intentions set under the Taurus New Moon. What lights you up is not frivolous — it’s sacred.
Scorpio Moon (May 11th): As we shift into Scorpio, everything intensifies. Emotions, desires, and truths rise to the surface. This is a beautiful time for shadow work, releasing old entanglements, and transforming pain into purpose. The veil thins. Don’t fear the depths — you were built for them.
Yoga Pose: Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana)
This gentle fold invites introspection and surrender. As you reach toward your feet, notice where you resist — physically and emotionally. Let the pose teach you: it’s okay to not have all the answers yet. Sometimes the lesson is in the letting go, in trusting the inward turn.
Crystal for the Week: Smoky Quartz
Smoky Quartz supports emotional release, grounding, and protection — especially during times of transformation. Keep it nearby as you navigate tender emotions and begin to reclaim energy you’ve given to grief, regret, or old stories that no longer define you.
Ritual: The Sacred Grief Release
Find a quiet space with your journal, Smoky Quartz, and a bowl of water.
Write a letter to what you’re mourning — a version of yourself, a lost relationship, a path not taken. Let yourself be raw and honest.
When you’re ready, read the letter aloud and then tear it into pieces. Place them in the bowl of water. As the paper softens, whisper:
“I honor what was. I release what no longer serves. I open to what is still possible.”
Pour the water into the earth if possible, or down the drain with gratitude and intention.
Song of the Week:
“Take This Body Home” by Rose Betts — a haunting, beautiful anthem that speaks to loss, longing, and the quiet power of returning to oneself after heartbreak. Let it move through you as a companion to your healing this week.
Shadow Work Prompt:
Where am I still carrying guilt or sorrow for something that wasn’t mine to fix?
What part of me still believes I have to suffer to prove I’m worthy of healing?
This week, remember: returning to your center doesn’t mean bypassing your shadows — it means holding them with grace, honesty, and compassion. You are not too much. You are not behind. You are exactly where your healing begins.
