What’s Brewing: Beltane
“If the spell is working… let it cook.”
You’ve done the work. You’ve honored the spark. Now, trust the slow burn.
Beltane is a celebration of fertility, fire, and fullness. It reminds us that the seeds we've sown are sacred, and magic takes time to bloom.
What is Beltane?
Beltane is one of the eight sacred Sabbats on the Wheel of the Year, celebrated around May 1st in the Northern Hemisphere. It marks the peak of spring and the turning toward summer. A time of high energy, sensuality, and creative potential.
Traditionally, Beltane was a fire festival celebrating the union of the God and Goddess, symbolizing fertility, passion, and new life. Cattle were driven between two fires for purification and protection, and couples leapt over flames to bless their union.
Spiritually, it’s a portal of power. The veil between worlds is thin, just like at Samhain, but this time it’s bursting with light, life, and the intoxicating hum of possibility.
This is a time to honor:
What you’re birthing into the world
The wild, creative fire within you
Trust in the process and sacred timing
The beauty of sensual embodiment and mystery
Affirmation:
“I trust in divine timing. I honor the growth unfolding within me.”
Reminder: Still move in silence.
Your intuition is spot on so trust it. You don’t need to explain, prove, or post every step. Let your magic steep in mystery. What’s for you cannot miss you.
Tarot Card of the Week: The Empress. I know I'm posting about her a lot lately but her magic is potent as she reminds us to nurture our creations and let them ripen in their own time. Stay grounded, stay present, and don’t pluck the fruit before it’s ready.
Beltane Ritual: Tend Your Inner Fire
Purpose: To honor what you’re growing and energetically tend to your manifestations with trust and patience.
You’ll need:
A red candle (or any candle that feels powerful to you)
A small bowl of herbs or flowers that symbolize growth (lavender, basil, rose, calendula)
A pen and paper
Optional: music that makes you feel sensual, alive, and rooted
Steps:
1. Set the mood: Light your candle and, if you wish, put on music that feels like Beltane energy which is fiery, fertile, magnetic.
2. Write a list: Jot down all the intentions, projects, or shifts you’ve recently been working toward. These are your “seeds.”
3. Hold your hands over the list: Say aloud:
“I honor the magic in what I’ve created. I do not rush. I trust. I allow it to unfold in divine timing.”
4. Sprinkle herbs over the paper and visualize each intention surrounded by golden light.
5. Let the candle burn (safely, or extinguish and relight later) as a symbol of your commitment to not interrupt the process.
Close with gratitude. Optional: bury the paper in soil or place it under a houseplant to let it grow in secret.
Tarot Prompts for Beltane:
1. What is currently blooming that I may not yet fully see?
2. What in me still needs nurturing or protection?
3. Where am I tempted to rush, and why?
4. What is the energy or outcome I am being guided to trust?
5. What hidden guidance is ready to speak through my intuition now?
So as the fire of Beltane rises, let it ignite your trust. Let it fuel your patience. Let it remind you that what you’ve planted is potent—and it will bloom. Keep tending the flame, keep listening to your intuition, and keep moving in silence like the wild, wise witch you are.
The spell is working.
Let it cook.
And when it’s ready… it’ll be undeniable.
In sacred flame and fierce devotion,
That Witch Karena
